Like most things in life, losing weight is in large part of mind over matter. Whether or not you realize it your mind and how you think about food has a lot to do with whether or not you will lose weight.

While having a positive mind set and realistic weight loss goals will help you to achieve better weight loss, there are other ways to trick your mind and your body into eating less which ultimately will result in weight loss.

Here are some tricks you can use to help fool your mind into helping your body lose weight.

#1. Want to Trick Your Body to Lose Weight? Then Don’t Diet

The moment you mention or even think the word diet, a list of negative connotations go through your subconscious.

Your conscious mind may be thinking weight loss, but your subconscious mind is thinking, deprivation, hunger, and suffering.

Forget about dieting and focus your mind on eating healthier. By doing this instead of your mind picturing all of those foods you will no longer enjoy it will start picturing beautiful and fresh fruits and vegetables, beautiful green salads, and other colorful pictures of foods that taste good and are good for you.

#2. Don’t Bring Serving Bowls to the Table

Even if your body feels sated with the food on your plate, seeing bowls with food still in them often signals your mind that you need to eat more food.

Perhaps, this is due to the fact that your mother has burned into your mind that you should not waste food, or that you need to finish a small portion left in a bowl so the bowl can be washed.

Whatever, the reason, seeing food remain in a serving bowl, makes us reach for more, even when we are not longer hungry.

The old adage “out of sight out of mind” has certainly helped many people stay in control of their portion sizes and it may well work for you as well.

#3. Sticking to Portion Size While Filling the Plate

Believe it or not, starting out with a filled plate at a meal actually can help you to eat less. Many times your brain simply signals that you need to eat more when your plate has too much white space.

However, you can trick your brain into seeing more food than is actually there simply by placing those smaller portions on a smaller plate or one with a large rim.

When your plate looks full you actually feel as though you are eating more.

The good thing is that fresh food and healthy vegetables that are low in calories actually can take up a lot of room on a plate, replacing that huge pasta side dish while still giving you the visual image of a full plate.

#4. Chewing Each Bite 20 Times Can Help Trick Your Body to Lose Weight

Not only does chewing your food help you digest it better, but it also has both a physical impact and a mental one on how full you feel.

Physically when you eat your food quickly, your body does not have a chance to start digesting what you are eating. So you eat more because you don’t feel full.

By eating more slowly your body has a chance to feel sated, and therefore you tend to eat less.

Eating fast also has a physiological impact on how full you feel. When you eat slowly it takes more time to finish a meal.

And the longer you eat, the more likely your mind will think you have eaten a large quantity of food. You feel like you have eaten more simply because your body tells you that you have.

#5. Choose Foods With a Lot Of Color

Choosing foods with a lot of color is one of the ways you can trick your body to lose weight. Believe it or not the more colorful that plate of food is the more full you may feel.

Eating a monochromatic plate of food leaves most people feeling unsatisfied so they tend to eat more.

So go ahead and eat that chicken breast, but try placing it on a dark green leaf of Kale and a slice or two of orange or lemon.

Throw some broccoli and carrots in with that ½ cup of brown rice to make it more visually appealing and enjoy a side of fresh raspberries or blueberries.

By making your plate of food more colorful not only do you feel like you have eaten more, but you are actually taking in wider variety of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients all of which make you feel fuller.

#6. Sit Down at a Table to Eat Your Meal or Snack

One of the tricks that your mind plays on you is telling you that any food you consume while watching television, sitting at a computer. Or lounging on the couch or bed simply do not count.

So, you tend to think of food you eat in these places as not being real meals. And therefore your mind tells you that you need to something more.

By sitting down at a table and making the act of eating, an activity in itself, you become more aware of just how much food you are consuming and are likely to eat less.

Tricking your mind into helping your body eat less while feeling more satisfied will help you to reach those weight loss goals much faster while feeling less hungry.

Much of the weight loss process is truly mind over matter. So go ahead and trick your body to lose weight.

However, if you need something to jump start your weight loss journey, then you may want to try this diet pill.
